Cytopeia Incorporated :: Seattle, Washington
Cytopeia is a Seattle-based bioengineering company, dedicated to developing and marketing instrumentation for flow cytometry and cell sorting.
Our mission is to offer high-performance sorting in a compact instrument. Our instruments are designed to meet the exacting needs of advanced biomedical research and clinical applications.
Cytopeia is the first commercial spin-off by the Institute for Systems Biology, a non-profit research facility founded by Dr. Leroy Hood to explore novel technical approaches to promote predictive, preventive, personalized medicine.
Since its establishment, Cytopeia's core team of engineers has developed a line of instruments based on the inFlux® platform: a compact, versatile cell sorter engineered for speed, precision, and safety. The inFlux analyzes and sorts samples at speeds of up to 50,000 events per second on a self-contained, easy-to-use benchtop system.
The modular design of the inFlux allows for customization for specific research demands where applications require configurations that are different from those available on current 'off-the-shelf' machines. The versatile design also supports clean room sorting, using patented (proprietary) disposable nozzles and Cytopeia's unique HEPA-filtered enclosure.
